Build the hospitality portfolio
I'd give yourself roughly one focused weekend
maisondecarolyn.com/hospitality
The page only needs about six sections:
01 — Hero
One extraordinary image + positioning statement.
Hospitality & Travel Storytelling
Editorial photography and short-form content capturing interiors, gardens, food and the details that give a place its sense of place.
02 — Selected imagery
Perhaps 12–20 exceptional photographs. France/Riviera material is especially valuable here.
03 — Short-form film
3–5 strong examples demonstrating that you can tell a story vertically.
04 — What I Create
Photography
Short-form video
Social content
Editorial storytelling
Property/interior details
05 — Your perspective
Very short. Your experience with interiors, antiques and France becomes part of the value proposition.
06 — Contact / collaboration
“Available for select hospitality and travel collaborations in Paris and France, November 2026.”
That's enough to start pitching.
Don't spend three weeks designing a 14-page UGC media kit.
3. Then turn your attention to the pattern portfolio
This is where I'd spend more creative energy because the upside is potentially much bigger for the career you're building.
Your private pattern page should ultimately feel appropriate if someone at a major textile or interiors house opens it.
Not:
Here are some patterns I've made.
More like:
Surface & Pattern Design
Original artwork inspired by gardens, historic interiors, travel and the decorative arts.
Then organize it into collections rather than miscellaneous motifs.
I'd rather see you enter October with 3 exceptional, coherent mini-collections than 25 unrelated patterns.
For each collection, show:
Hero pattern → supporting coordinates → alternate colorways → repeat → 2–3 sophisticated applications → original artwork/sketch/source inspiration.
That last component is particularly valuable for you because it establishes that there's an actual artist and point of view behind the work.
The split I'd use for your time
For approximately the next month:
60% hospitality/content → 40% patterns.
Once the hospitality portfolio exists and your first pitch wave goes out:
